Abbas then took on the historic Abraham Accords signed earlier this month in Washington D.C between the Israelis, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain - the first such peace agreement between Israel and an Arab country since Jordan and Israel signed an accord in 1994.
The Palestinians rejected U.S. President Donald Trump's peace plan in the Middle East, also known as "the Deal of the Century", considering it as a conspiracy to eliminate the Palestinian cause.
Speaking to American business news channel CNBC on Wednesday evening from Jeddah, Faisal said his father King Faisal bin Abdul Aziz would have been "disappointed" at the agreement that the UAE and Bahrain signed with Israel without finding a solution to the issue of Palestine.

The Palestinian Authority on Tuesday quit its rotating chairmanship of Arab League meetings.
Palestine's chairmanship would have been in effect for the upcoming six months, but Al Maliki stated that his government has already informed the Arab League's Secretary General Ahmed Abu Al Gheit of the decision to forgo chairing the council's ongoing session.

Israel's U.N. Ambassador, Gilad Erdan, responded with a video statement calling Abbas' speech a collection of "lies and incitement against Israel" and arguing that the Palestinian leader was "desperate" because of the agreements Israel reached with Bahrain and the UAE. In an address to the United Nations General Assembly this week, he called on the UN to lead future peace talks.

Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa stood by his country's normalization agreement with Israel during the United Nations session, saying that the agreement serves as "a cornerstone for achieving a just and comprehensive peace leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, based on the resolutions of global law and the Arab Peace Initiative".
The council, made up of the military and civilians, has been in charge of Sudan since the toppling of autocrat Omar al-Bashir past year.
