According to the U.S. Election Project, a data collection project run by a professor at the University of Florida, the total number of votes cast so far for the 2020 election is roughly 43 percent of the total number of votes cast in the 2016 election including early votes and on Election Day.
Delayed results are a very possible outcome in an election that will see more ballots than ever cast through the mail. It exceeds 63% of New Jersey's total participation in the 2016 presidential election. But experts are looking at political reasons too. But misinformation on the subject of one of its first banners - fraud related to mail-in ballots - has been spreading for months.
Four years ago, fewer than 200,000 people voted by mail in North Carolina.
The outlet's polling conducted by SSRS suggests that about 35 percent of likely voters in Florida acknowledged they have already cast their ballots, with 71 per cent reportedly backing Joe Biden and 27 percent backing Trump.
While the Democrats, who strongly encouraged early voting, have been leading the initial balloting, Republicans are narrowing the gap, with GOP voters showing up for early in-person voting. Smaller portions would take action to make their displeasure known: 22% of Biden supporters and 16% of Trump supporters said they would engage in street protests or even violence if their preferred candidate loses.
The increase in absentee voting spans political parties. Libertarians are at 111%.
Texas is one of the states that has been showing an unprecedented level of early voting. At the Erie County Board of Elections that means 13 days after November 3rd.

Now the only Republican expected to vote against Barrett is Collins, who faces a tight reelection in Maine. For now, we can say to the lawyers and judges striving to uphold the precious right to vote, well done.

In terms of ways to vote; you can now come into the Bureau of Elections and vote in-person.
The early voting numbers are also an indicator of a high overall turnout. "Even so you might encounter unconfirmed claims that voting by mail leads to election fraud ahead of the 2020 USA elections". If hand-delivered, the ballot must be in the office of the Absentee Election Manager by the close of business on the day prior to the election. Tuesday marks the deadline to request an absentee ballot in New York State and Western New York elections offices are preparing for a possible last minute surge in requests for ballots.
KING-TV reports voters who have not registered by the October 26 deadline can still do so in person up until Election Day, Nov. 3.
Similarly, people who haven't yet registered to vote can still register at one of their county's polling places during early voting.
It's still unclear how long after the election officials will be able to accept mail-in ballots, due to an ongoing lawsuit. The 2016 general election saw half that number of absentee ballots returned, which at the time set a record.
