John Kerry returns as Biden's climate czar

Biden, 78, at an event in his hometown of Wilmington, Delaware, presented his picks for secretary of state, national security advisor, homeland security secretary, intelligence chief, United Nations ambassador and climate change envoy.

Biden had said he wanted his administration to mirror the diversity of America and his first cabinet choices do that.

The last two men Mr. Trump installed as directors of national intelligence were partisan hacks who devoted themselves to purging his perceived enemies and releasing classified information that the president thought bolstered his conspiracy theories - regardless of the cost to US intelligence operations.

Pennsylvania and Nevada certified the November 3 election results on Tuesday, a day after the state of MI did so, a move which triggered the General Services Administration (GSA) to launch the transition process.

The 74-year-old Trump, who has made few public appearances since his defeat, later attended a traditional Thanksgiving turkey-pardoning event at the White House. She is a former deputy director of the Central Intelligence Agency and a deputy national security adviser. Now, if that's beginning to sound a little familiar, that is because Biden's top foreign policy picks all bring with them a serious sense of deja vu.

"The outreach has been honest", Biden said.

"For the first time ever, the United States will have a full-time climate leader to participate in ministerial level meetings, and that's a fancy way of saying he'll have a seat at every table around the world".

"I think Inslee's isn't credited enough with how much he shaped Biden's thinking", Fahrenthold said.

"They embody my core belief that America is strongest when it works with its allies", he said.

UK, Canada reach trade deal in a Brexit boost for Johnson
Without an agreement, trade between the two entities would be executed under the terms of the World Trade Organization. The U.K. government says the stopgap agreement paves the way for future negotiations on a new tailor-made U.K.

The slate unveiled by Biden includes veterans of the Barack Obama administration and signals a return to traditional United States diplomacy and multilateralism.

As he prepares to assume office on January 20, Biden said the country is "ready to confront our adversaries, not reject our allies". "We need their cooperation".

In a further message of the US' re-engagement with the worldwide community, Mr Biden named Linda Thomas-Greenfield as the USA ambassador to the United Nations.

"America is back. Multilateralism is back". Linda Thomas-Greenfield is an African-American diplomat veteran of the foreign service. And the legacy that he will leave with his America First isolationist policies, but also because of climate change, and the impact of the pandemic.

Mr Biden's nominees and appointees, including Antony Blinken for secretary of state and former secretary of state John Kerry to a new position as special presidential envoy for climate, spoke for the first time since being announced on Monday by the transition team, and many of them offered implicit rebukes of President Trump and his isolationist and "America First" worldview.

Cuban-born Alejandro Mayorkas was named to head the Department of Homeland Security, whose policing of tough immigration restrictions under Trump was a frequent source of controversy.

President-elect Joe Biden has picked his national security team. If confirmed by the Senate, he would be its first Latino and immigrant leader.

Dis dey come as Oga Biden victory in di state of MI become officially certified, wey be a major blow to Oga Trump.
