RNC chairwoman calls on MI officials to pause election certification

Following the meeting, Chatfield and state Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey, both Republicans, said they have not been 'made aware of any information that would change the outcome of the election in MI'.

"You can't make up your mind before you get all the facts", Shinkle stated.

At one point, Bash played a clip of Trump lawyer Sidney Powell - now pushing insane conspiracy theories about a widespread voting machine plot involving Venezuela, Hugo Chavez, and Brian Kemp - saying just a few days ago that the election "should be overturned" in the disputed states.

Following the Friday afternoon meeting with Trump and his legal team, the MI legislative officials said they found no "evidence that would "change the outcome of the election".

President Donald Trump's campaign filed a narrow appeal Sunday in its longshot bid to have Trump declared the victor in the presidential race in Pennsylvania despite lagging more than 81,000 votes behind President-elect Joe Biden.

The road to certification this election cycle has been an unusually complicated affair in the closely watched swing state. Republican Norman Shinkle shared in an interview with The New York Times that he is receiving a multitude of calls and emails from people, both urging him to certify and not certify the state's election results, citing concerns over the integrity of the vote.

Last week, the president invited to the White House several Republican Michigan state lawmakers for a discussion, which press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said was "not an advocacy meeting" for Trump's campaign to overthrow the election. If there is no signature matching, this would be as phony as the initial vote count and recount.

The raids are the latest in the series of those conducted at the residences of big names associated with Bollywood. The agency is also carrying out searches at two other locations in the metropolis, the official added.

An attempt to stop Nevada's certification, brought by failed Republican Senate candidate Sharron Angle, was thrown out Friday.

U.S. Senator Joni Ernst, a Republican from Iowa who won reelection in this month's vote, told a Fox News radio program on Thursday that Powell's allegations were "offensive". The state board will meet Monday at 1 p.m.

During the meeting, Biden raised his agenda for the first 100 days of his presidency, including taking aggressive action to contain COVID-19, providing resources to small businesses, families, schools, and state and local governments to power economic recovery, and investing in the middle class to build back better.

The Trump campaign requested a recount in two heavily Democratic-leaning counties that put Biden over the top in Wisconsin.

Carothers said there could similarly be an effect in Mexico, where President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, a leftist populist, claimed fraud in two previous losing bids for office and remains one of the few world leaders, along with Putin, who has not congratulated Biden. The rescanning of ballots through counting machines likely will take less time than the week-long audit, which was the largest of its kind in US history in terms of ballots manually recounted.

Trump, his campaign, and his supporters have faired poorly in court challenges across the nation.
