A faulty ceiling fan sold by Home Depot has been recalled over blades that have been flying off, according to a new warning.

Even if you haven't noticed anything wrong with your Hampton Bay Mara ceiling fan, you should check to see if it's part of the recall list.

However, in the United States, there have been 47 reports of blades detaching from the fan, resulting in two people being hit and four incidents of property damage.

In the recall details released by the U.S. CPSC, the agency advises consumers who observe blade movement, uneven gaps between the blades, or movement of the clip during inspection, to immediately contact King of Fans for a free replacement ceiling fan.

At least two of the incidents involved a blade hitting consumers and four involved property damage, the agency said in a December 23 recall notice, which warned consumers to "immediately stop using the fans".

The company can be reached at 866-443-1291 from 9 a.m.to 5 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday. On Wednesday, the entire version of the fan was recalled, according to WSVN.

Over 5000 units of the affected products were sold in Canada and close to 85,000 were sold in the U.S. between May and October of 2020.

The NY Post says more than 190,000 of the fans have been pulled off shelves from stores in the US and Canada.
