Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State and Notre Dame make the field

While the Sugar Bowl is known for its raucous crowds in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, this year's game will have a decidedly different feel and look. Instead, the game has been moved to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys.

The game's location has been in doubt in recent weeks because of California's rules to stop the spread of the coronavirus and the location of the teams likely to make the College Football Playoff.

Ohio State running back Trey Sermon (8) runs for the end zone to score past Northwestern defensive back Cameron Mitchell (21) during the second half of the Big Ten championship NCAA college football game, Saturday, Dec. 19, 2020, in Indianapolis.

LSU is the defending college football national champions, but a poor season put them outside of any type of contention for the College Football Playoff.

The Rose Bowl game had been played in lovely Arroyo Seco every year since 1942, when the West Coast was deemed unsafe due to the attack on Pearl Harbor just 3 1/2 weeks earlier. It added that "the decision to move the game is based on the growing number of COVID-19 cases in Southern California along with the inability to host player and coach guests at any game in California".

Notre Dame (10-1) made the playoff as the fourth seed and will play undefeated and No. 1 Alabama in the other semifinal.

COVID-19 vaccine may turn people into 'crocodile': Brazilian President Bolsonaro
The adverse reaction in the person, minutes after taking the Pfizer shot, was similar to two cases reported last week in Britain. Both vaccines come with warnings for people who have histories of allergic reactions to their ingredients to avoid having them.

"We know that the decision was not an easy one to make", David Eads, CEO and executive director of the Tournament of Roses, said in a statement.

According to reports Saturday, the Tournament of Roses had asked state health officials to allow 400 to 500 spectators in the 95,000-seat stadium.

The pairing Sunday by the CFP selection committee sets up a rematch of last year's semifinal in the Fiesta Bowl. Neither team will participate in the College Football Playoff.

Hancock also said that Rose Bowl officials have appealed to officials to allow families to attend the game.

"Maybe they [CFP committee] needs to spend a little less time on who the top four teams are and figure out how to get parents into these games because it is an absolute shame, and a sham if parents can't be watching their kids play", Notre Dame's Kelly said.

The Rose Bowl was last played outside Pasadena in 1942, when Oregon State beat Duke 20-16 in front of 56,000 fans in Durham, N.C.
