Donald Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani admitted to hospital with Covid-19

A day after Giuliani's COVID-19 diagnosis was announced by President Trump, Ingham County Health Department issued a press release saying that individuals who were within six feet of the maskless Giuliani during the highly unusual legislative session in MI - which lasted more than four hours - must quarantine because it's very likely they were exposed to COVID-19.

Mr Trump's own diagnosis and hospital stay upended his campaign for a second term in office, less than a month before he faced Joe Biden in the presidential election.

"That's another champion, the greatest mayor in the history of NY".

Trump continued: "Greatest mayor in the history of NY, and what he's doing now is more important, and he will admit that". It is unclear who among the GOP lawmakers who were in close contact with Giuliani last week have been tested since and if they are quarantining.

It follows assurances for Mr Giuliani himself that he was "recovering quickly" and "feeling good" in a Twitter post in the early hours of yesterday.

It has also led to concerns about whom he may have infected before his positive case became known. It was widely believed the press conference was meant to take place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia but Trump's team booked the gardening center by mistake. Hours later, legislative staff in Arizona's Capitol abruptly announced a weeklong closure of the state Senate and House starting on Monday. The committee chambers were packed with spectators, many of whom also were not wearing masks.

USD/CNY crashes to 2018 lows as China trade surplus hits record high
China's exports are beating expectations as the world's biggest manufacturing nation's overseas markets reopened from Covid-19. Imports in the first 11 months reached 8.95 million tonnes, the data also showed, a 63% rise on the same period a year ago.

CNN reached out to Rudy Giuliani for a comment about his coronavirus diagnosis, which he hadn't responded to at the time of this writing. The president's lawyer is 76 years old, which means he is at higher risk of developing severe illness from covid-19, per Centres for Disease Control and Prevention guidance.

They added the mandatory quarantine requires people who were without a mask at the hearing and those who were within six feet of Mr Giuliani to go into quarantine.

Giuliani was widely praised for his management of New York's response to 9/11 and was nicknamed "America's mayor" as a result.

More than 14 million COVID-19 cases have now been recorded in the USA, with over 280,000 deaths.

Mr Giuliani's case comes as the U.S. continues to experience "staggering numbers of new cases", according to virus expert Dr Anthony Fauci. "Giuliani - maskless, in packed hearing room for 7 hours".

Most recently, Giuliani has spearheaded the Trump campaign's legal team working to overturn the election results, a group of attorneys that one lawyer on the team described as an "elite strike force" but that hasn't managed to notch a single victory in more than two dozen legal challenges it's filed since Election Day.
