Tanden is the president and CEO of the liberal think-tank Center for American Progress.
USA president-elect Joe Biden intends to nominate Indian-American Neera Tanden as the Director of the Office of Management and Budget, a top position inside the White House responsible for managing the administration's budget, according to local media reports on Sunday.
Before his appointment as the President of Obama Foundation, Adeyemo was the deputy chief of staff at the department of the treasury, a position he held for three years.
Biden has pushed ahead with naming his team despite Donald Trump's continuing refusal to concede defeat and his unfounded claims of voter fraud that have been repeatedly rejected by courts. He said the team of economic advisers he announced Tuesday would play a "critical role" in shaping the Biden administration's plan to revive the economy.
Yellen, 74, was the head of the USA central bank from 2014 to 2018 and served as the chair of President Bill Clinton's Council of Economic Advisers.
He will nominate Cecilia Rouse, a Princeton University labor economist, to be chair of the Council of Economic Advisers, these people said.
Ron Wyden, the top Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee, said Yellen's confirmation hearing should occur before Biden's January 20th inauguration, as it did for Steven Mnuchin- the current Treasury secretary.
President-elect Joe Biden announced Monday he will nominate former Federal Reserve chair Janet Yellen to lead the Treasury, topping a slate of economic officials who would break racial and gender barriers in the USA government.
If confirmed, she can be the primary girl of shade and the primary South Asian girl to guide the OMB, the company that oversees the federal price range.
Three moderate Republican senators - Mitt Romney of Utah, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, and Susan Collins of ME - have all signaled they would back Biden's nominees as long as they are centrist.
"Neera Tanden now serves as President & CEO of the Center for American Progress, an organization dedicated to advancing policies that increase opportunity for every American".
Jared Bernstein has been chosen as a member of the Council of Economic Advisers.
Notably, she organized a letter earlier this year signed by more than 100 economists calling for more government action to mitigate the fallout for Americans caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
Rouse, who's Black, can be the primary girl of shade to chair the CEA.
