Miami Heat end pursuit of Houston Rockets' James Harden, sources say

As the National Basketball Association season gets set to kick off this week, the Houston Rockets might have a problem on their hands.

Additionally, the report states that a number of playoff-caliber teams in the Eastern and Western conferences have indicated that they are finding increased comfort in committing high-level trade assets in talks to acquire Harden, with the Rockets now engaged on several fronts and communicating those scenarios with Harden. The Nets are limited by the Rockets' interest in their personnel, and likely would need a third team to emerge in talks, sources said. For those reasons, discussions never got very far on the Rockets' side, sources said.

Reports have surfaced that the Sixers "signaled a willingness" to include Ben Simmons in a deal involving Houston Rockets star guard James Harden.

Although he may end up having to stay at the Rockets for the 2020/21 season, Harden still has lofty ambitions. Harden is considered by most in the Rockets organization to be laid back, so many believe the recent confrontations are directly related to his frustration with the team.

"I can only focus on right now, and for me, the best James Harden is making sure I'm in shape", he told reporters on Wednesday.
