As part of its global battle with Netflix, Disney is launching a general entertainment content offering under the Star brand.

In Europe, Disney+ will be priced at €8.99 per month or €89.99 per year, with a similar pricing adjustment in the other Star launch markets, including Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.

Over on Disney+, the studio will revisit Willow in a brand new series, where Warwick Davis will return to the titular role. This will include content from the popular Kardashian family, which this year announced it was ending its long-running reality show on NBCUniversal's E! network.

Disney is raising prices for Disney Plus just months after launch, as it unveiled a major expansion of the streaming service.

"The enormous success of Disney+ inspired us to be even more ambitious", Executive Chairman Bob Iger said at the event. By fiscal 2024, the company expects it will have between 300 million and 350 million total subscriptions.

Marvel have officially released the trailer for Loki, a TV series featuring everyone's favourite Marvel villain.

Shares of Netflix slipped 0.6 percent during Disney's presentation. Disney didn't confirm when Star Wars: Ahsoka would premiere but hinted that the "next chapter" would debut Christmas 2021.

Fans of the character and of Dawson were beyond thrilled when news of the series broke Thursday (Dec. 10) during Disney's Investor Day.

Star Wars has plenty of animated shows but foraying into Japanese anime is definitely a huge step forward in representation and cross-cultural stories.
