The ballots the Trump campaign is seeking to have tossed fall into four buckets, according to a copy of the lawsuit circulated by the Trump campaign: 170,000 in-person absentee ballots, 5,500 ballots that had some witness address missing, 28,400 ballots from voters who claimed they were "indefinitely confined" and 17,300 ballots returned during "Democracy in the Park" events hosted by the city of Madison. Arizona certification came at the same time when Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani made a plea before several Republican State legislature that the lawmakers could and should throw out the election results.
But they did not provide evidence of widespread fraud.
In US presidential elections, states often take until long after election day to officially certify vote counts.
They had requested permission to hold a formal legislative hearing at the Capitol but were denied by the Republican House speaker and Senate president. The Trump campaign alleges some of those voters don't meet the criteria.
On Monday, Mr. Trump signed a campaign email that breathlessly told supporters that the end of November - almost four weeks after Election Day - represented "our most IMPORTANT deadline EVER".
"To date, we have not seen fraud on a scale that could have affected a different outcome in the election", the news service quoted Barr as saying.
