Alberta COVID-19 units approved for vaccine

"At this time, vaccine supplies are limited, and frontline health care workers, and those who may be exposed to the virus are among the first group to be vaccinated", said Dr. Beverley Townsend, West Central District Health Director, in a press release from the health department.

"It's not a live vaccine, so you're not getting covid-19 from getting the vaccination". The state has administered only about one-third of the 1.3 million vaccines it has as of January 3, Gov. Gavin Newson said.

After the first COVID-19 vaccines arrived in Teton County last month, the county is now ready to move to the next phase of vaccinations.

Phase 2 is broad, including firefighters, police officers, grocery store workers, K-12 and child care workers - teachers, custodians and other staff - transportation workers, U.S. Postal Service employees and people who work in retail and agriculture.

There are now 851 people in the hospital, and 135 of them are in the ICU. Other occupations covered include utility workers, IT and communications workers. But a timeline for the process has not been released. "We've done thousands of shots, with thousands to go", she said Thursday.

Health officials said, "We're starting to get the high-risk population vaccinated we'll continue vaccinating, and hopefully we'll get through this pandemic". Of those, about 70% said "yes" to the vaccine and 30% wanted to "wait awhile", she said.

The city has dropped below 200 active cases of COVID-19 for the first time since November 22, with 199 active cases now diagnosed by Alberta Health.

South Africa buys 1.5 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine
Their clinical trial revealed the vaccine was up to 90% effective, depending on the initial dosage. South Africa has now seen more than 1.1 million cases since the virus first arrived in March.

"This is going to be an ongoing process", Hathcock said. Officials are asking residents to be patient, as they can not vaccinate everyone eligible immediately.

The Indiana State Department of Health is now allowing you to register to get your COVID-19 vaccine. It is important to note that the vaccine is not available for all of phase 1b.

Some vaccine providers had not been trained on the computer systems through which to report vaccine distribution, and the state said earlier this week it was working to bring them up to speed.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio have bickered over the best vaccination plan in the state, which has recorded more than 38,000 COVID-19 deaths, by far the most of any USA state.

On Dec. 31, Kansas Highway Patrol Lt. David Jacobs delivered COVID-19 vaccine to Ellinwood District Hospital.

Food and agriculture sector includes production, processing, and delivery systems that feed people and animals in the United States and overseas and also those who import many ingredients and finished products, a complex web of growers, processors, suppliers, transporters, distributors, and consumers. As of Wednesday morning, 5.3 million Americans had received their first dose of the vaccination.

Health leaders must also work to dispel myths about the vaccines.
