'BBV154 (intranasal COVID-19 vaccine), preclinical testing has been completed for toxicology, immunogenicity and challenge studies.

He said the Integrated Vaccine Complex of HLL Biotech Limited (HBL), which has remained non-functional for six months, would soon be optimally utilised to produce Covid-19 vaccines.

India, he said, has done extremely well in developing vaccines in the shortest possible time.

"The Cabinet Committee has chose to initially purchase 1.2 million doses of the vaccine from the Chinese company Sinopharm, which will be provided free of cost to frontline workers in the first quarter of 2021", the science minister said on Twitter. On Tuesday, however, the provincial government said that the federal government had hinted at a delay. In the process, several lakhs of health workers were trained adequately.

HBL is a 100 per cent subsidiary of HLL Lifecare Limited, a government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

"As you all are aware of the COVID-19 vaccine being made available in the immediate future, it becomes our natural responsibility to assist the vaccination drive in a professional way", the doctors' body said in a statement.

Democrats send Congressional Prayer with "Amen" and "A Woman"
Cleaver, a Kansas City Methodist minister serving in his ninth term, delivered the opening prayer as the U.S. He also included Hindu god Brahma in the invocation.

"Based on the feedback of dry-run, the Health Ministry is ready to introduce Covid-19 vaccine within 10 days from date of emergency use authorisation", he said.

In Pune, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) said it is geared up to deploy its resources to facilitate transportation of the vaccine across the country.

The second nationwide mock drill is underway today at three-session sites in 736 districts across 33 States and Union Territories (UTs).

As a simulation of actual execution, another round of dry run/mock drill in all 700+ districts of all States/UTs (except UP and Haryana who have already conducted/ will be conducting the dry run in all districts on January 5 and January 7 respectively) is planned on January 8, 2021 to ensure efficient planning and management for vaccine delivery in each district of all States/UTs.

During his visit, Vardhan will review the preparedness and oversee the dry run operations at the scheduled sites. It was conducted to familiarise the state, district, block, and hospital-level officers on all aspects of the COVID-19 rollout. "State is equipped enough to administer 4 lakh doses of vaccine per day", informed the minister.
