On Monday (November 16), the "Lover" hit-maker tweeted a letter to her fans regarding the shocking sale. However, Ithaca Holdings later acquired Taylor's records when it bought over Big Machine in June 2019, only to now sell them for a thumping sum to Shamrock Holdings.
In 2019 Big Machine was bought by Ithaca Holdings, a company owned by hugely influential manager to Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber, Scooter Braun.
In re-recording her first five albums, Swift can ensure that the new versions of the songs, not the ones owned by Braun or the entity he sold them to are the ones streamed by her fans and used in ads, TV shows, movies, games, political ads, etc.
In her post, Swift reveals that Braun's team had requested she sign a non-disclosure agreement before she could "bid on [her] own work".
Taylor Swift said the executive refused to even quote a price to her team and that her masters would never be for sale to the Grammy-winning singer.
Swift's master recordings stretching back to 2006, and include all the songs from "Taylor Swift", "Fearless", "Speak Now", "Red", "1989" and "Reputation".
Swift said rapper Kanye West, a client of Braun, featured a nude wax figure of her in his Famous music video, and referred to the clip as a "revenge porn music video which strips my body naked".

The deal is thought to be worth over $300 million, and in a Twitter post she revealed that the new owners of her music are a company called Shamrock Holdings.
In a detailed statement on Twitter, Taylor said that "my team attempted to enter into negotiations with Scooter Braun".
Braun and his Ithaca Rights Holdings LLC acquired the master rights to the albums in June of previous year through a $300 million purchase of Swift's former label Big Machine - Variety reports today that Braun "profited handsomely" from his recent sale of the masters. She ended the update by thanking fans for their support "through this ongoing saga", and that she "can't wait for you to hear what I've been dreaming up".
Despite pawning off her old music, Swift said Braun will continue to reap profits off of her work. They sold her master recordings out from under her, despite her working diligently to try and secure her master recordings for herself.
The singer wanted to crack the deal with Shamrock, and regain ownership of her music. "I hope this clears things up".
She added that Braun had "stripped her" of her life's work that she "wasn't given an opportunity to buy".
"We appreciate Taylor's open communication and professionalism with us these last few weeks", the company continued.
