The TGA is also working closely with worldwide regulators and is participating in meetings with Britain's Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and the European Medicines Agency to discuss these rare cases over the coming few days.
The figures cover 9 December 2020 to 21 March this year, when 15.8 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine had been administered, and around 2.2 million second doses.
It said it wasn't clear if the shots are causing the clots, and that its "rigorous review into the United Kingdom reports of rare and specific types of blood clots is ongoing".
The authority indicated that "the risk of developing this specific type of blood clots is very small".
"The benefits in preventing a COVID-19 infection and its complications continue to outweigh any risks and the public should continue to get their vaccine when invited to do so", June Raine, MHRA chief executive, told United Kingdom broadcaster the BBC.
