On Sunday, hundreds of protesters clashed with riot police in Brooklyn Center near Minneapolis after a 20-year-old Black man was shot dead by the police on Sunday afternoon. Hostin, a lawyer, disagreed with the ruling and called the explanation into question.
"A so-called mistake? A handgun for a taser?" Prosecutors say Floyd was pinned for 9 minutes, 29 seconds.
"It was intentional they stopped him".
Mr Floyd, a Black man, died on May 25 after Mr Chauvin, who is white, pressed his knee against his neck.

Police fired tear gas at the protesters several times and ordered them to disperse.
Protests erupted on Sunday after news of Wright's death broke and the National Guard was activated to help secure stores and contain the violence.
"A TASER device has a different grip and feel and is heavier than a firearm; is offered in yellow to contrast a black firearm; a LED control panel lights up when the safety is taken off; and it is contained in a holster that is different and separate from the officer's firearm", a company spokesperson said.
Shortly before 9:00 pm local time (12pm AEST Tuesday), almost two hours after the curfew went into effect, dozens of protesters continued to wave signs and chant slogans in front of the police station in Brooklyn Center, where Sunday's killing occurred.
Chauvin and three other officers were fired the day after Floyd's death. She can be heard on her body camera video shouting "Taser! Taser! Taser!" but a gunshot is then heard.
After medics arrived, she told the two officers who shot the man to get into separate squad cars, turn off their body cameras, and not to speak to each other.
President Joe Biden called the killing "tragic", but warned against any potential violent unrest.
During the call, she said she heard scuffling and then someone saying "Daunte, don't run" before the call ended.
The shooting happened as the Minneapolis area was already on edge over the trial of the first of four police officers in George Floyd's death.
