Colorado's voting laws got fresh attention this week after the Major League Baseball made a decision to move its All-Star game to the state to protest Georgia's new legislation.
Commissioner Rob Manfred said in a statement at the time that he discussed the potential move with individual major leaguers and the Players Alliance, an organization of Black players formed after the death of George Floyd a year ago, before ultimately deciding to make the call "as the best way to demonstrate our values as a sport".
The new voting law came in the wake of the first Democratic victories in presidential and Senate elections in Georgia in a generation, which triggered repeated unproven assertions by former President Donald Trump that the state's election was fraudulent. "So it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me".

He and others pointed out that Georgia offers voters 17 days of in-person early voting, while Colorado has only 15 of those in-person days.

Kemp and others also have said that Colorado requires photo identification to vote, which is false.
The 2016 presidential election - in which NY businessman Donald Trump defeated former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton - was the first in which Colorado used a mail-in ballot system, according to the station. After first-time mail-in votes, Colorado uses signature matching for absentee ballots.
It should also be noted that Georgia's new voting law is close to 100 pages and deals with far more than voter-ID requirements.
